Michael Chan has spent more than thirty years in international education leadership across Hong Kong, Greater China, and Southeast Asia — in school leadership, curriculum design, teacher development, school transformation, and education consulting.

His work has focused on building and improving schools, developing teachers, strengthening curriculum, and helping institutions respond to major changes in education.

Artificial intelligence presents a different kind of challenge. It can create the appearance of learning while bypassing the thinking education is meant to develop.

Michael founded Astra AI Governance to help schools move beyond the simple choice of banning AI or allowing it without structure. Astra provides a practical governance approach designed to help schools use AI responsibly while protecting independent thought and preparing students for the world they already inhabit.
